We also see His Favor because last month, FINLAND CAME BACK to us–uninvited–to request our help to save Kenyan families through their $60 million Grant–and activate PBL Kenya in tandem with their new administrative NGO partner, Kenya’s RED CROSS.
The plan is that, this Fall a 6-month pilot program will be evaluated. Their stated intention, however, that Finland they wishes for us to spearhead the eradication of Gender-based Violence–and family transformation throughout the country.
Behind the scenes…
On December 1, 2024, we pulled out of the high risk and corruption-fraught package that Finland was proposing–essentially outsourcing the work to Kenya’s Gender Affairs Department and the Civil Society of 47 Counties. Finland’s top executive who trusted us–and befriended our Executive Director Wycliffe Mudavadi–inviting him to speak at several Kenyan GBV symposiums.
The evolution of Finland’s initiative–as of last month–was that they had shed their initial two local implementers and cut a deal with the nation’s President–William Ruto–and the Red Cross. One of our Board members has served with the Red Cross for 10 years–and the NGO was very pleased to have us work together to implement the desires of the Finnish government!
